Debuting Fil-Am Buntan puts up masterclass at ONE: Fists of Fury

Jackie Buntan had a debut to remember in ONE Championship.

The 23-year-old Filipino-American stunned Wondergirl Fairtex, taking a dominant unanimous decision win during ONE: Fists of Fury, Friday at Singapore Indoor Stadium.

Entering the bout as an underdog, the muay thai artist out of Boxing Works Gym immediately took control of both the cage and the tempo of the bout in the opening round. Buntan’s quick combinations and weaves stunned the Thai, culminating her opening masterpiece with a solid left hook that floored Wondergirl.

“I’m lost for words. I have a hundred-percent confidence in my training, with my coaches and I believed that,” said Buntan, who was at a loss for words.

Buntan continued to land in the second round that resulted in swelling over the left eye of Wondergirl while maintaining her pace in the third canto to complete her successful debut.

Buntan raised her slate to 21-5 after the victory.

Wondergirl dropped to 34-17-2.
