Christian Lee still has eyes on Charles Oliveira heading to ONE: Revolution

With just a day to go until ONE: Revolution, some of the biggest stars slated for the event are gearing up for their respective bouts.

ONE Championship gave fans inside access on its official YouTube channel, with stars like ONE Lightweight World Champion Christian “The Warrior” Lee and his opponent and top contender, Ok Rae Yoon – among others – making appearances.

Here’s what we learned from the vlog.

Ok Rae Yoon looked a-ok as he hit the mitts in the confines of his hotel room, and he promises fans are up for a surprise.

He knows that fans look at him as the underdog in this bout, but if there’s someone who shouldn’t make the mistake of doubting his capabilities, it’s Lee – and he was quick to send a warning to the World Champion.

“I’ve always been an underdog, so I don’t care what people think. Whether I’m an underdog or not has no effect on the result of the fight. It’s all a mental thing. I really don’t care. I just have to win this bout and show everyone who’s the best,” he said.

“He’s the champion and he’s successfully defended his belt a couple of times, so of course he can call himself the best in the world. He’s the best, but he should know that someone can take him out anytime.”

Martin Nguyen Is Ready To Rise AgainONE-Legends-of-the-World-Martin-Nguyen-def-Eduard-Folayang Christian Lee still has eyes on Charles Oliveira heading to ONE: Revolution Mixed Martial Arts News ONE Championship - philippine sports news

Former ONE Featherweight World Champion Martin “The Situ-Asian” Nguyen has licked his wounds and is eager to take back the strap that he lost.

Nguyen faces “The Fighting God” Kim Jae Woong in a bout that could catapult him back into World Title contention against current king Thanh Le.

Not wanting to miss a step, Nguyen quickly jumped into the gym even after a 24-hour flight, working with former two-division World Champion Aung La “The Burmese Python” N Sang, who excitedly helped his teammate.

“I came back wanting to do better, feel better. Everything is right with the camp, so no excuses man. We’re ready – we’re ready,” Nguyen said.

It seems like nothing will stop him from wreaking havoc in the division once more.

Christian “The Warrior” Lee is certainly not looking past his huge World Title defense against Ok, but that doesn’t mean he can’t plan for the future.

When asked who’s on his hit list, he talked about two top guys in the UFC lightweight division – World Champion Charles Oliveira and Dustin Poirier – and he truly wants to make it happen.

“If I can fight anyone in the world right now, I want to fight the second best lightweight in the world,” Lee said of UFC Lightweight World Champion Charles Oliveira.

“Charles Oliveira is the number one lightweight in the UFC. We also have Dustin Porier up there. [Those are] the guys I want to fight.”

If he continues to beat his challengers the way that he’s done in the past starting with Ok, then talks of a crossover match could only intensify.

Watch ONE: REVOLUTION live on One Sports or One Sports+ beginning with the lead card at 6:30 p.m. Philippine Standard Time (PHT) on Friday, 24 September.

The full event stream will also be available on ONE’s YouTube channel and the ONE Super  App.
