Bounty Agro Ventures, Inc., the company behind Chooks-to-Go, entered the world of sports over a year ago. And from day one, they have always emphasized that putting up a PBA franchise is one of the goals of the company.
One year had passed, and the goal is as vivid as ever for the leader in the rotisserie industry. More importantly, the company has bared its plans for how they will enter the premier basketball league in the country.
“We are really on the lookout,” BAVI president and general manager Ronald Mascarinas bared Wednesday afternoon.
“We are really on the lookout for an available franchise for sale. That’s the shortest route!”
This is the second route to join the PBA, as the first is to try and prove to the league that you can sustain a franchise by entering the D-League.
Mascarinas added that he wants to strike while the iron is hot, as he plans to enter into talks with some franchises later in the year.
“There are possibilities but nothing really concrete at this time. Mukhang may possibility na before the end of the year, we might be able to negotiate a buyout of an existing franchise,” Mascarinas disclosed.
With Chooks-to-Go’s commitment to Gilas Pilipinas extending until 2019, a PBA team is a necessity to always keep the company present when the National Team is idle.
