Philippine Women’s National Football Team striker Chandler McDaniel is set to return to action in the Filipinas’ upcoming matches in the 2024 AFC Women’s Olympic Qualifying Tournament next week in Tajikistan.
The 25-year-old forward last played in the 2022 AFC Women’s Asian Cup. During that tourney, she helped the team reach the semifinals but suffered an ACL injury in the process against South Korea.
She will be expected to score the goals for the team aside from the likes of Sarina Bolden, Katrina Guillou, and Quinley Quezada.
Starting from the back, Kiara Fontanilla, Inna Palacios, and Olivia McDaniel will compete to be the team’s starting goalkeeper.
In front of the goalkeepers, Maya Alcantara, Alicia Barker, Reina Bonta, Jessika Cowart, Malea Cesar, Sofia Harrison, Hali Long, and Eva Madarang will fight to start in the back four.
When it comes to the midfield, Tahnai Annis, Anicka Castaneda, Sara Eggesvik, Carleigh Frilles, Jaclyn Sawicki, and Meryll Serrano shall try to seal a place in the middle of the park.
The Filipinas will start their campaign against Pakistan this Wednesday at 7:00 PM Manila time. They will then face host nation Tajikistan next Saturday at 10:00 PM Manila time. Stajcic’s wards will end their campaign against Hong Kong on April 11, 2023, at 7:00 PM.
All matches will be held at the Hisor Central Stadium.
