The squad recently competed in the AFC U-23 Championship qualification tourney where they faced Japan, China and hosts Cambodia. Unfortunately the team lost all their games. Nevertheless, hopes are high that the squad will be able to improve on the country’s 10th place finish in the 2015 SEA Games held in Singapore.

“I’m satisfied with the team’s preparations and my hope is that we’ll be in the last four following our intensive preparation in Japan and Cambodia,” commented Maro.

Both squads start their respective campaigns on August 15 at 8:45PM. The PWNT shall take on Malaysia, while the Men’s U-22 team will face Cambodia..
