Ced Domingo took the spotlight on Tuesday night after her efficient outing powered Creamline’s semis-clinching victory over PLDT in the 2023 Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference.
Domingo delivered 15 attacks on 18 attempts to finish with 17 points in the 25-20, 25-21, 25-17 win over the High Speed Hitters.
The Cool Smashers improve their win-loss standing to 6-1 and secure the first semifinals seat.
The 23-year-old product of Far Eastern University hopes that her efficient performance against PLDT can relieve some of the pressure on their outside spikers as they gear up for the playoffs.
“I guess one thing is hindi lang middles, but tataas yung efficiency ng outside and opposite spikers namin since mataas yung efficiency ng middle namin. So like what you’ve said, advantage for us na lahat ng spikers babantayan ng other teams,” said Domingo.
Aside from Domingo, Tots Carlos popped off as well with a game-high 18 points on 50-percent attacking clip along with 14 excellent receptions and seven excellent digs. Meanwhile, Jema Galanza tallied 11 markers along with 11 receptions and seven digs.
The 5-foot-10 middle blocker said that Creamline’s early entry to the semis is a testament to the hard work that they put in during practice.
Domingo said that the team will continue to work hard as they look to bounce back from their bronze finish in the previous conference.
“Happy kasi nag-payoff yung mga tini-training namin and I believe na pa-peak pa lang kami. Pagdating ng semis, mas lalo pa naming pag-i-igihan,” said the reigning Invitational Conference Finals MVP.
“Like what coach said, actually walang advantage na basta makapasok sa semis kasi lahat ng team ngayon grabe na rin e. ‘Di ka rin makakasiguro na mananalo ka, na kaya mo silang talunin in any sets. So I guess every game talaga importante para sa amin.”
