Blackwater has called in Cam Clark to replace Ricky Ledo for a fresh start in the PBA Season 49 Governors’ Cup, a source told Tiebreaker TImes.
In practically a split waiting to happen, the Bossing have let go of the former NBA cager after losing their first two games of the import-laced conference.
Ledo scored just a total of 18 points in the two games he played, including a paltry six on 15 shots in a 104-87 beatdown at the hands of NLEX last Thursday in what would be his final game with the team before being sacked.
Blackwater will play with an all-Filipino lineup against San Miguel this Sunday at the SMART Araneta Coliseum as Clark won’t arrive until early next week.
This will be his third tour of duty in the PBA. The 32-year-old first played for NLEX in the 2022 Governors’ Cup before joining the Beermen the following season in the same conference. He reached the semis in both campaigns.
With SMB, Clark posted averages of 28.7 points on 57.2-percent shooting from the field, 11.3 rebounds, and 3.2 assists in the 15 games he played.
The Phoenix-native last played for the Kaohsiung 17LIVE Steelers of Taiwan’s P. League+ and is now bound for his third consecutive stop in Asia.
He began the year with Manama of Bahrain, wherein he also competed in the FIBA West Asia Super League, before heading to Taiwan.
Clark is expected to make his Blackwater debut on August 30 against Justin Brownlee and Barangay Ginebra at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.
