Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympian Caloy Yulo was explosive right from the get-go, turning the Rizal Memorial Coliseum into his playground.

After amassing 84.900 points, the young phenom won the Philippines’ first-ever artistic gymnastics men’s individual all-around gold in the Southeast Asian Games, Sunday.

The world champion in floor exercise flexed his muscles early with a whopping 14.650 on the floor right on the first rotation. He then followed it up with solid performances on the pommel horse; still rings; vault; parallel bars; and horizontal bar to deny the competition any upset.

Two Vietnamese gymnasts overtook the 19-year-old champ in a few apparatuses, but still fell short of challenging the Filipino overall. Dinh Phuong Thanh finished with 82.350 for the silver, while Le Thanh Tung ended with the bronze at 81.700.
