For the first time in the UAAP Season 81 Women’s Volleyball Tournament, the Far Eastern University Lady Tamaraws started using two liberos against the University of the Philippines Lady Maroons, Saturday afternoon.
Buding Duremdes split duties with rookie Angelica Bautista, with the former taking over digging while the latter went in for receiving.
This setup, apparently, did not sit well with Duremdes, who felt that she had to prove she did not ned to split duties.
In the end, FEU wound up using Duremdes exclusively for the last two sets, and they claimed a crucial four-set win. Duremdes piled up 37 digs, and she hoped that she made a point with her resurgent performance.
“It depends din kay coach. Siya pa rin ‘yung magde-desisyon,” said the third-year defensive specialist when asked if she was comfortable splitting duties in FEU’s last three matches.
