Bren Esports sent TNC crashing to the ground, picking up its fourth-straight win after scoring a 2-1 reverse sweep in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League-Philippines Season Eight, Saturday afternoon.
With the win, Bren Esports moved up to the fifth spot with 14 points through a 5-6 record.
All thanks to Angelo “Pheww” Arcangel’s (Pharsa) crucial pickoffs on Daniel “Chuuu” Chu’s Hayabusa early in the match, the Bernard Chong-owned franchise was able to build an early lead for Karl “KarlTzy” Nepomuceno’s Sun to obtain his much-needed items.
Bren Esports, who was about to take the Luminous Lord after the 16th minute, ran over a contesting TNC which resulted in a four-man wipe.
The remaining Bren Esports contingent went for the death push down the bottom lane while CJ “Ribo” Ribo (Chou) chased down Frediemar “3MarTzy” Serafico’s Lapu Lapu to prevent a possible defense.
David “FlapTzy” Canon was named the SMART 5G MVP with three kills, a death, and eight assists on his Esmeralda in the 14-8 win which lasted for 16 minutes and 33 seconds.
“Simple lang e, kasi multiple targets for Hayabusa so medyo nahirapan, medyo tricky kasi yun [Sun pick] kapag Hayabusa ka tapos marami kang target,” said Bren Esports coach Francis “Duckeyyy” Glindro of the surprise Sun pick.
Carrying the momentum of yesterday’s win, TNC – led by the early aggression shown by Patrick “P-GOD” Ibarra’s Selena and 3MarTzy’s Thamuz – trounced Bren Esports in the opener.
While Bren Esports showed more fight late in the match, it was still not enough as the snowballed TNC ran through the reigning world champions with ease.
P-GOD took the SMART 5G MVP with a perfect 4-0-5 KDA in the 16:52-minute, 14-2 Game One stomp.
KarlTzy then put up a monster Hayabusa game in Game Two with a perfect 9-0-6 KDA to send the series to a deciding Game Three.
TNC, who picked up a huge win yesterday over RSG PH, went up a spot – claiming seventh place with 11 points off a 3-8 standing.
Bren Esports looks to extend its streak against the skidding Omega Esports tomorrow, Sunday at 6:00 PM while TNC will take on Nexplay EVOS on the same day at 8:00 PM.
