Bren believes Blacklist, Omega are teams to beat in MPL PH 8

Reigning world champion Bren Esports had an unceremonious exit in the previous season of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League-Philippines.

Coming off a huge win in the M2 World Championships, the team started Season Seven with three consecutive losses – a losing skid that eventually tore the team apart in the tournament’s home stretch.

The MPL Season Six champions managed to bounce back from the horrid start but eventually lost steam in the playoffs where they bowed out of the tournament against Execration to settle for the bronze.

Now refreshed from the long grind that they went through in the past months, Bren Esports is out for everyone’s heads in the upcoming MPL Season Eight – Blacklist International and Omega Esports, in particular.

“Blacklist [International], sabi ng iba malakas daw yun e. Saka [defending] MPL champion sila, wala silang talo e kaya feeling ko sila dapat yung makakalaban namin sa championship,” revealed Bren Esports veteran CJ “Ribo” Ribo on Thursday night in Bren Esports’ preseason pres conference.

“Oo, Blacklist [International],” echoed Bren Esports coach Francis “Duckeyyy” Glindro.

Meanwhile, team captain Angelo “Pheww” Arcangel has another team in mind. For him, the team to beat for this season is Omega Esports – the team bannered by the former Execration core that booted them out of the tourney and also won the 2021 Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Southeast Asia title.

“Sakin Omega, sila yung lumaglag sa amin e [last season] e,” said the two-time MPL Philippines champion and one-time Southeast Asian Games gold medalist.
