Brazil, long regarded as the dominant force in international women’s futsal, arrived in Manila with one goal: to prove it was the world’s best.
In front of a roaring crowd of 5,087 at the packed Philsports Arena in Pasig, Brazil accomplished that mission, defeating Portugal 3-0 to claim the inaugural 2025 FIFA Futsal Women’s World Cup title.
Golden Boot winner Emilly set the tone with an opening goal in the 10th minute, before Amandinha doubled the lead with a strike in the 23rd minute.
Debora Vanin sealed the victory in the 38th minute, slotting the ball into an open net during Portugal’s power play.
Winning coach Wilson Saboia, who guided Brazil to a flawless six-win campaign, said: “It’s amazing to be crowned with an unprecedented and historic title for the Brazilian National Team. It’s a great feeling. I’m very happy. My family, Bruna, the athletes, and everyone involved over these 52 days—I miss everyone, but it was worth it.
“These athletes are incredible, our coaching staff is wonderful, and the CBF’s support was outstanding. A kiss from the bottom of my heart to everyone,” he expressed.
This landmark triumph adds to Brazil’s storied futsal legacy, which already includes one AMF Futsal World Cup gold, six Women’s Futsal World Tournament championships, and eight Copa América de Futsal Femenina titles.
For Saboia, the win carries an even greater significance as a boost for the sport in Brazil.
“It’s a huge legacy because it will strengthen futsal in schools, clubs, and universities, and promote sports science to develop professional athletes. This will create better coaches and better players,” he said.
Portugal, meanwhile, finished the tournament with five wins and one loss, claiming the silver medal.
Despite their strong performance in this World Cup, the UEFA Women’s Futsal Championship, and previous Women’s Futsal World Tournaments, Portugal is still chasing its first international title.
