Better late than never.
That is the case for TNC rookie Ben “Benthings” Maglaque, who finally tasted his first series victory in the form of a 2-0 sweep against the second-ranked ONIC PH in the team’s final match in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League-Philippines Season Eight, Sunday evening.
“First time lang po namin manalo sa MPL, bale ang ganda po dahil matagal po yung laban tapos nasubok po yung experience namin,” said Benthings in the post-match interview.
“Mas marami po kaming na-gain na experience na magagamit po namin in the future kung saan man po kami mapunta.”
While the win already has no bearing since TNC is already out of the playoff race, the 25-year-old pride of Bataan is still proud of the fight that his team showed up to the last minute.
Battling for pride, TNC took out ONIC PH in the opener through well-timed Iron Hooks coming from Benthings’ Franco. Then, the team left everything out on the floor in Game Two – surviving ONIC PH’s strong defensive stand to close out the upper bracket-bound squad in the longest game in Season Six.
