BanKo Perlas replace Kia Bright, tap Sutadta Chuewulim

By: Ohmer Bautista

Kia Bright has been released by BanKo Perlas Lady Spikers.

According to multiple reports, Bright will no longer be part of BanKo for the rest of the 2019 PVL Reinforced Conference and will be replaced by Thai spiker Sutadta Chuewulim.

Last Wednesday, Bright only played in two sets and did not even start the game. The 5-foot-11 American only had one point in the game that led to a four-set loss for BanKo at the hands of Petro Gazz.

Bright had 69 spikers, 10 blocks, and three aces in six games played.

Chuewulim has been in and out of the Philippine volleyball scene during her nine-year career as a pro.

The 26-year-old has played for the Cagayan Valley Lady Rising Suns in 2012 and, just recently, for United Volleyball Club.

She is a member of the Thailand Women’s National Volleyball Team and has also played for Supreme Chonburi, Bangkok Glass, and Queen Air Force.

Chuewulim will make her debut on Saturday when BanKo takes on Creamline at 4:00 pm in San Agustin Gym in Iloilo City.

BanKo is currently in fourth place with a 2-4 record.
