Baloyskie surprised to see Filipino fans support Geek Fam in M5

By: Jan Marcus Montevirgen

Allen “Baloyskie” Baloy was left in awe by the overwhelming support Geek Fam received during his homecoming at the M5 World Championship.

Despite representing an Indonesian squad in the global competition, Baloyskie, who last played in the Philippines on April 30 last year, received warm cheers from Filipino fans during Geek Fam’s group stage matches, where they won two out of three games.

“Masaya syempre tapos nakakagulat na may fans kami from the Philippines,” the former ONIC PH roamer told Tiebreaker Times in an exclusive interview.

“Actually, kapag nag-iiscroll ako, kapag naglalaro kami sa Indonesia, grabe yung support na nakikita ko kaya masaya at the same time nakakamiss,” he continued.

The former MPL Indonesia Best Roamer expressed his utmost gratitude to the Pinoy fans who watched the games live at the EVM Convention Center and showed their support to both the Filipino squads and imports.

“Sobrang grateful ako sa mga pumunta [dito sa M5] para manood sa amin,” said Baloyskie.

Baloyskie said that he is looking forward to facing MPL PH contingents AP Bren and Blacklist International, should Geek Fam advance to the knockout stage, and give the home crowd a treat.

The MPL Indonesia Season 12 runner-ups currently hold the top spot in Group D with a 2-1 record. They will have to await the results of the other matches in their pool to determine their fate in the playoffs.

If given the chance to face off against the powerhouse Filipino squads, Baloyskie vowed to make the most out of the opportunity and give the fans their money’s worth.

“Mas maraming fans kapag may Pinoy team na naglalaro, so I am looking forward to that.”
