Less than 24 hours after getting their first win, Juan Gomez de Liano and Earthfriends were sent crashing.
Tokyo Z was dealt a crushing 57-84 loss by Ehime in the 2021-22 B.League Division II season, Saturday at the Ota Ward General Gymnasium.
Imports Andrew Fitzgerald and Eugene Phelps joined hands in Ehime’s strong start, scoring 18 of the Orange Vikings’ first 22 points to give their side a 10-point lead.
It got worse for Earthfriends from there as it was limited to just nine points in the third canto to fall behind, 55-40, entering the final frame.
Ehime would lead by as much as 29 points, 84-55, with 1:19 left in the game.
The Orange Vikings, who rose to 4-11 in the standings, were led by the 31 points and 20 rebounds of Phelps. Fitzgerald also had 26 points on 11-of-18 shooting from the field.
Eddy Norelia paced Tokyo Z, who dropped to 1-14, with 18 points and 10 rebounds. Takumi Masuko added 15 points while Joshua Crawford was limited to just 10 points on 3-of-11 shooting with 11 boards.
Gomez de Liano went just 3-of-9 from the field for seven points. He also had four rebounds and two assists.
Gomez de Liano and Tokyo Z will next face Yamagata on November 29 at the Omori Sports Center.
