Aurora’s strong start in MPL PH continues, hands RSG PH first loss

By: Jan Marcus Montevirgen

Aurora once again delivered a dominating performance, handing RSG PH their first loss of MPL Philippines Season 14 with a 2-0 sweep on Sunday at the Green Sun Hotel in Makati.

Aurora heavily relied on Dominic “Domeng” Del Delmundo (Roger) and Kenneth “Yue” Tadeo (Zhask), finishing Game 2 in just 15 minutes.

The neophytes had a rough start in the early minutes as John “1rrad” Tuazon’s Hayabusa became a threat, securing the first two kills of the game and giving RSG PH a gold lead of up to 4k by the 7th minute.

However, an 8th-minute clash in the mid-lane turned things around for Aurora. They won the skirmish with a 4-2 trade after Renejay “Renejay” Barcarse (Tigreal) initiated the teamfight, allowing Yue and Domeng to each secure a Double Kill.

Yue finished Game 2 with five kills, seven assists, and one death, while Domeng recorded a perfect three kills and five assists.

“Sa ngayon, hindi ko pa ma-gauge kung ano na yung performance namin kasi hindi pa namin nakakalaban lahat ng teams. Siguro naging advantage lang namin ay nagkaroon kami ng tournament before mag MPL. Kaya kahit papaano nalilinis namin yung mga errors namin. Tingin ko kailangan pa rin namin mag-improve kung gusto namin talaga makuha yung goal namin,” said Aurora head coach Aniel “Master the Basics” Jiandani during the post-match conference.

In Game 1, the match went down to the wire after a final Lord push in the 16th minute, where Jonard “Demonkite” Caranto’s Julian stunned four members of RSG PH, allowing Domeng (Moskov) to lock in the tower.
