Armel “Armel” Tabios and Kim “Gabbi” Villafuerte dominated in consecutive games as TNC crushed 496 Gaming to keep their Singapore Major hopes alive in the Dota Pro Circuit 2021: S1-Southeast Asia Upper Division, Saturday evening.
Gabbi opened up the series with a masterful Alchemist performance, finishing with 14 kills and seven assists against two deaths. He also tallied a whopping 38,732 net worth in just 35 minutes and 30 seconds.
Armel (Outworld Devourer) added nine kills, three deaths, and seven assists in the 26-17 Game One victory. TNC team captain and support Kim “Febby” Yong-min (Tusk) dished out a game-high 18 assists along with a kill and five deaths.
The 11k MMR midlaner then flat-out dominated in Game Two, recording 16 kills and 16 assists against just a death using Death Prophet. Meanwhile, the former Clutch Gamers carry finished with 15 kills, seven assists, and two deaths playing Morphling.
The Filipino powerhouse squad thrashed the Vietnamese side, 40-17, in just 36 minutes and 23 seconds.
TNC support Timothy “Tims” Randrup’s Tims scored a game-high 24 assists laced with three kills and four deaths while Australian offlaner Damien “kpii” Chok added three kills and 15 assists against five deaths with Mars.
TNC now holds the third spot in the upper division while T1, who lost to TNC back in February 6, settled for the fourth seat despite recording identical 4-2 win-loss standings.
The Predators look to capture either the second or third seat for the Singapore Major when they face the top-ranked Fnatic on February 24, Wednesday, while 496 Gaming will try and salvage their upper division slot against Execration on the same day.
