Arellano celebrates Filipino culture to open NCAA Season 95 — including Bamboo

Despite the upcoming NCAA wars, the league showed unity to open the 95th season of the Grand Old League.

Arellano University, who is hosting a season for the very first time in school history, made sure to go all out in the league’s first-ever opening held on a Sunday.

Highlighting the ceremony was a performance for Filipino rock icon Bamboo.

Also giving performances were various groups from the numerous campuses of Arellano performing OPM songs and traditional Filipino dances.

Arellano University ace spiker and reigning College Press Corps NCAA Volleyball Player of the Year Regine Arocha led the oath of sportsmanship.

Arellano University chairman and NCAA Season 95 policy board president Francisco Paulino Cayco formally opened the games at the end of the opening ceremony.

“Maging kaisa sa pagkakaiba. Ito ang simula ng NCAA Nobentay-singlo.”

Last season’s second and third-place finishers Lyceum Pirates and Letran Knights open the season at 2:00 pm followed by defending champions San Beda Red Lions opening their four-peat bid against hosts Arellano Chiefs.
