Thirdy Ravena was the focal point of Alvark Tokyo’s defense that led to San-En suffering a crushing 76-94 loss in the 2020-21 B.League season, Saturday at Arena Tachikawa Tachichi.
Averaging 14.3 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 1.0 turnovers in his first three games, the 6-foot-3 Asian import was held down to just four points and three rebounds while committing two turnovers. Ravena went just 1-of-9 from the field.
Ravena was held scoreless in the first half and only had his first two points of the game through free throws during the third canto.
The defending champions led 27-18 to end the first quarter and never looked back.
Arvark would lead by as much as 21 points, 92-71.
NeoPhoenix dropped to 2-12 in the West District.
Deshon Thomas led the way for Alvark with 27 points while former San Miguel import Kevin Jones had 14 points and seven rebounds.
Daiki Tanaka, a member of the Akatsuki Five, had 23 points while Meralco’s former Asian import Seiya Ando added 12 points and five assists also for Alvark, who went up to 9-5 in the East District.
Kyle Hunt paced San-En with 28 points and 11 rebounds while Stevan Jelovac added 20 points and seven boards in the loss.
San-En will again face Tokyo tomorrow.
