Allen Durham returns to Meralco

Allen Durham will once again reinforce the Meralco Bolts in the 2019 PBA Governors’ Cup in September, the team announced through their official social media accounts Friday.

This will be Durham’s fourth straight stint with the Orangemen, and fourth overall in Asia’s pioneering pro league.

The two-time PBA Best Import is coming off a stint with the Shiga Lakestars in Japan’s B.League, where he posted per-game averages of 22.3 points and 13.2 rebounds across 18 outings.

Durham is responsible for leading Meralco to back-to-back Governors’ Cup Finals trips in 2016 and 2017, and he’s keen in doing so again after falling to Alaska Aces in the semis last year.

The hulking 6-foot-5 import averaged 28.6 points, 17.1 rebounds, 7.2 assists, and 1.1 blocks last season.

Durham will be playing with a slightly different Bolts team this time around following the addition of athletic 6-foot-8 slotman Raymond Almazan via trade earlier this season.
