‘Ready lang ako’ — that’s how Alaska star Vic Manuel is approaching things, since the 6-foot-4 forward revealed that his coaches in the Aces have already spoken to him about a possible trade.
Per rumors, Manuel is bound for Phoenix Pulse in exchange for forward Jason Perkins and a few others.
“Narinig ko na rin ‘yan kasi last week, kinausap na rin ako ni coach Jeff (Cariaso) tsaka ni coach Danny (Ildefonso) about diyan,” he said after the Aces’ 106-99 win over NorthPort Sunday.
“Siyempre ako, ready lang ako sa kung anong mangyayari, kung ano yung magiging resulta.”
Manuel said that he understands the direction the Aces are going under new head coach Jeff Cariaso, and so he has no issues should he be traded away soon.
“Talagang maraming changes sa Alaska ngayon eh. Waiting na lang kung anong mangyayari. Kung magii-stay, okay diba. Kung ma-trade, ganun talaga,” said the seven-year pro out of PSBA.
“Kailangan tanggapin natin kung anong magiging changes pa sa darating na linggo.”
Change has really been a term that defines Alaska since Cariaso took over. Last September, it traded third-year forward Carl Bryan Cruz to the Blackwater Elite for Abu Tratter.
And just recently, it shipped star guard Chris Banchero to the Magnolia Hotshots for Rodney Brondial and Robbie Herndon — a deal that the PBA just approved on Sunday.
