Adroit Esports’ core has found a new home last Friday.
In a statement posted on Omega Esports’ Facebook page, the Smart-backed squad has acquired the Adroit five of Marvin “BOOMY” Rushton, Mc Nicholson “MAC” Villanueva, Bryle “CML” Alvizo, Justine Ryan “TINO” Grimaldo, and Nikko “Nikko” Bilocura to play for the Omega banner in the upcoming 2021 Dota Pro Circuit season.
“We’re ecstatic to announce that we’ve geared up our Dota 2 roster. From SEA Games Gold medalists to highly skilled rookies, we’ll be starting off the upcoming DPC season with a clean slate,” said Omega in the post.
The Cebu-based Dota 2 team shut down its operations last November 14, citing the ongoing coronavirus pandemic as its main reason.
This allowed Omega Esports to sign Boomy, Mac, CML, Nikko, and Tino as free agents. Omega also added JL to serve as the team’s analyst.
The move will be a welcome sight for Omega, as it amped up its Dota 2 coaching staff last November 16 after signing former TNC Predator star Carlo “Kuku” Palad as its head coach.
The new-look Omega squad will get its first taste of action in the upcoming Beyond the Summit qualifiers.
