Promising setter Joyme Cagande may likely miss the rest of UAAP Season 81, as she has possibly suffered an ACL tear in her left knee.
According to National University head coach Norman Miguel, Cagande may undergo surgery, depending on the severity of the tear in her ACL.
“They are just waiting for the swelling to subside on her knee,” said Miguel, as Cagande remains under observation.
It was reported earlier this week through sources by Spin.ph that Cagande’s injury was diagnosed as a high-grade ACL tear with a bone contusion.
Cagande suffered the injury late in their opening day match against the Far Eastern University Lady Tamaraws, in a collision with teammate Rose Doria.
The three-time UAAP Juniors Best Setter was NU’s only setter in the lineup. They will have to work with converted playmakers Kly Orillaneda and Joni Chavez, as Cagande remains out.
