With no PBA team right now, Mark Cruz is not going to give up
5-foot-5 gunslinger Mark Cruz is set to suit up for the Tanduay Rhum Masters in the 2017 PBA D-League Aspirants’ Cup starting January, according to head coach Lawrence Chongson.
Cruz, a former Letran Knight, played for the Star Hotshots and the Phoenix Fuel Masters during his rookie year. During the Governors Cup, he averaged 4.2 points on 33-percent shooting from distance, 1.4 assists, and 1.0 rebounds in just 12.4 of game time.
Tanduay, on the other hand, are looking for a scorer that can replace the production of Kevin Ferrer and Gelo Alolino. The Rhum Masters were able to make their D-League Finals debut during the 2016 Foundation Cup, falling to the Phoenix Accelerators in three games.
Joining Cruz in Tanduay are former University of Santo Tomas King Tiger Louie Vigil, and carry-overs Rudy Lingganay and Jaypee Belencion.
