Pablo shakes off illness, leads Lady Bulldogs past UE

Despite feeling “under the weather”, NU’s Myla Pablo still managed to blast through the Lady Warriors’ defense and pulled her team to a dominant 25-22, 25-11, 25-17 victory at the San Juan Arena.

Pablo amassed a game-high 13 points off 11 spikes and 2 blocks while her towering teammate, Jaja Santiago contributed 10 points. NU’s rookie sensation Jorelle Singh pitched in 8 points while fifth year player, Rizza Mandapat had 6.

UE’s returning senior, Leuseht Dawis, shared game-high scoring honors with Pablo, also coming up with 13 while sophomore captain, Shaya Adorador, tallied 10 markers.

The Lady Warriors weren’t too far off from the Lady Bulldogs in terms of offensive proficiency, trailing NU 25-33 in spiking. What did the Lady Warriors in were their 35 unforced errors, mostly off serves.

NU’s starting setter Ivy Perez missed her second game in a row due to an ankle injury. She is still day-to-day per team officials. UE’s Jasmine Alcayde suffered an ankle injury in the first set but managed to play up until the second set.

The scores:
NU- Pablo 13, Santiago 10, Singh 8, Mandapat 6, Dadang 5, Soliven 1, General (L) 0, Valdez 0, Doromal 0
