Gabe Norwood returns as Gilas reveals 24-man pool for 2017 FIBA Asia Cup

Long-time national team member Gabe Norwood will return to serve another tour of duty with Gilas Pilipinas, as he was named to the 24-man pool made specifically for the 2017 FIBA Asia Cup in Lebanon set this August.

The 32-year-old shooting guard, whose last stint with Gilas was in the 2015 FIBA Asia Championship, was on the list made by SBP and revealed by none other than head coach Chot Reyes through Twitter, Saturday afternoon.

Joining the two-time FIBA-Asia silver medalist are fellow Gilas veterans Calvin Abueva, Japeth Aguilar, June Mar Fajardo, Troy Rosario, Terrence Romeo, and reigning Asia’s best point guard in Jayson Castro.

The Cadets are also well-represented in the list, as Carl Cruz, Kevin Ferrer, Mac Belo, Kobe Paras, Ray Parks, Jio Jalalon, Kiefer Ravena, Roger Pogoy, Mike Tolomia, Christian Standhardinger, and Matthew Wright are all named.

Raymond Almazan, Norbert Torres, Baser Amer, Kevin Alas, Allein Maliksi, and naturalized center Andray Blatche complete the pool.

The biennial Asian tourney will take place from August 8 to 20.
