Ateneo, Cignal players not allowed to play in Clash of Heroes

Acoording to a source within the team, the Cignal players who are in the 25-man pool for the Philippine were not given clearance by management to participate in the All-Star event. Both were not part of the original 25-man pool announced last March 14 by head coach Sammy Acaylar, but were advertised to play in the Clash of Heroes. According to a different source, both are catching up with their academics. Allegedly, there were also no invitations for the pair to play in the event before it was announced.

The Clash of Heroes was set up to raise money for the team’s overseas training. It is also said to affect the players’ chances of making the final cut.

For the women’s division, Alyssa Valdez, Grethcel Soltones, Myla Pablo, and Elaine Kasilag were also not allowed by their club teams to take part in the event.

The coaches of both National Teams are hoping that they at least make an appearance to show their dedication to the National team.
