There is still no diagnosis on the injury suffered by De La Salle University Lady Spikers’ graduating open hitter Cyd Demecillo.
The Cebuana was carried out of the FilOil Flying V Centre on a stretcher, and was immediately brought to the Makati Medical Center after their win against the University of the Philippines Lady Maroons.
Just last week, doctors gave Demecillo clearance to play in her full capacity. She had suffered a stress fracture in her shin before the season. Through La Salle’s first matches, Demecillo barely saw any playing time until the start of the second round. She started in a win against FEU and slowly got more playing time. The game against UP was the first time she had played an entire match without being substituted.

Demecillo appears to have injured her right knee in the last play of the UP match as she was going for a dig.
“Masakit daw, di siya makatayo,” said DLSU head coach Ramil De Jesus. “May mga doctors kanina pero mas maganda daw dalhin sa hospital for an MRI.”
“Last week pa ‘yun sumasakit, after noong game namin against UST. Sana hindi naman grabe,” De Jesus closed.
