Football fans rejoice! FOX Sports has gladly announced a new addition to their football coverage into their roster: The Bundesliga 2015/2016! They have begun their live coverage of the league last August 15, showing five to six matches every week. In addition, the channel has also provided its audience with programs for highlights and replays to suit their schedule.
The Bundesliga holds the most number of spectators in attendance, which consists of 45,000 viewers per match. Apart from its massive following, the league is also recognized for having the highest average goals per game. The league invites 18 clubs around the country to battle it out and be named the champion team. The first team to hail such an award was VfB Leipzig in 1903. At present, 2014/2015 winners, and garnering the most number of league titles, is FC Bayern Münich.
FOX Sports, in collaboration with Brew Kettle – Asia Brewery, arranged a press conference for the coverage of the German football league to be aired on FOX Sports channels; that was held last August 18, at the Vyne Tapas Bar and Restaurant in the Taguig City.
VP Marketing for Asia Brewery Inc., Manny Escosa, expressed his excitement with his partnership with the sports channel. He knows that football and celebration go hand in hand, thus explains their project in line with the German football league. “We’re going to provide limited edition bottles, with images of the clubs and players on the back labels. These limited edition bottles will be seen at your convenient stores soon; in October of this year.”
The press conference continued the forum with FOX Sports VP for Territory Head in the Philippines, Jude Turcuato. Provided with the five-year rights deal with Deutsche Fußball Liga GbmH, Jude is more than ready to showcase one of the best leagues in Europe. He mentioned that in association with Brew Kettle, he hopes to give the audience the thrill and excitement with their future plans for the league. “We tied up with Brew Kettle and Asia Brewery; we tied up with venues to able to have the excitement and the passion come out. And this is really one of the only ways to get people to get more excited about football, and I think in Europe, in other parts of Asia, in other parts of the world. This is how people watch, and this is how people celebrate football games. When you go to venues and you have events like this, and you watch together and you cheer together, and you drink together.”
While the channel has already provided coverage for both the La Liga and English Premiere League, he concluded on his quest to further boost international football with this coverage. “I think the league [Bundesliga] itself was the most open to have a global deal with any network. They knew that they needed a global partnership with a network like Foxsports in order for them to elevate, and for people to see the actual talent of the teams themselves. I mean, the World Cup champions is Germany, and all of the European countries accept that the Bundesliga certainly is the same level as far as talent; it is really a matter of getting the word out, and letting the world see the actually excitement of the league itself.”
