Ariel Vanguardia is left amazed by the response the Hoop Coaches International’s Webinar has received.
The veteran bench tactician, together with Blackwater, organized a two-day online seminar for coaches here and abroad to provide a learning opportunity while the world remains in a standstill due to the novel coronavirus pandemic.
“The response has been unbelievable,” expressed Vanguardia, who serves as alternate governor and consultant for the Elite in the PBA.
“We had attendees not only local coaches but also from neighboring Southeast Asian countries.”
The webinar’s first day was headlined by former Talk ‘N Text head coach and current Indiana Pacers assistant Bill Bayno and Angola national team head coach Will Voigt, who’s also a prospect for Gilas Pilipinas’ head coaching job.
Olympiakos player development coach Mike Kalavros and Florida Gulf Coast University assistant Joey Cantens also spoke in the session moderated by Vanguardia, Quinito Henson, and sports psychologist Tedi Villasor.
Now, Vanguardia looks forward to another successful edition in Day 2 of the Webinar this Sunday.
The second day will feature Poland national team head coach Mike Taylor, head coach of NBA G-League squad Erie Bayhawks Ryan Pannone, and University of North Carolina at Charlotte assistant coach Aaron Fearne.
Taylor will discuss building team culture through positive coaching, followed by Pannone on ball-screen motion offense and the Euro game. Lastly, Fearne will explain early transition offense and into flow options and counters.
Sunday’s session will start at 6 p.m. and will be streamed on YouTube Live via Zoom.
