A banged up knee and flu had kept Calvin Abeuva from playing in the team’s last game against GlobalPort, but the hardworking forward doesn’t want to be on the sidelines for long.
In an interview with Tiebreaker Times, the 6-foot-2 do-it-all forward vowed to return in his team’s next game against the slumping San Miguel Beermen.
“Sa next game namin against San Miguel, babalik na ako dyan,” said Abueva, who is looking forward to the return bout of last conference’s finale.
Abueva hurt his knee following a collision with NLEX import Al Thornton. Due to the injury, the former San Sebastian stalwart missed the team’s last game as well as the Aces’ practices the past few days.
After the incident, the PBA Commissioner’s Office asked NLEX to put extra cushion on Thornton’s knee.
“Mabigat na nga yung pakiramdam ng import because of the extra cushion pero wala siyang magagawa. Utos ng PBA,” said NLEX team executive Allan Gregorio.
NLEX, along with San Miguel Beer are the only winless teams in the tournament with identical 0-3 cards.
