Joshua Munzon returns to Westports Malaysia

After months of uncertainties, Joshua Munzon will be back in the ASEAN Basketball League, as he was re-signed by the Westports Malaysia Dragons, the club team confirmed through their Facebook page last December 26.

In a story published by Tiebreaker Times earlier this December, Munzon and the Malaysian club had failed to agree to terms of contract in the off-season, thus delaying the six-foot-five guard’s sophomore campaign for months.

The Filipino-American from California averaged 19.4 points and nearly five steals in his rookie year with Vietnamese club team Saigon Heat and the Dragons. He is now set to replace compatriot Reil Cervantes as their Heritage Import.

The uber-athletic Munzon’s return to Westports, who had also signed another reinforcement in AJ West, could not be more timely, as the Dragons are currently ranking low in the team standings with a 1-2 win-loss record.

Munzon and West are set to suit up for the Dragons on January 3, 2018, as they visit another slumping team in Tanduay Alab Pilipinas.
