ONE Championship made sure that its Fire and Fury card on January 31, 2020, at the SM Mall of Asia Arena would be as deep as anything it has had.
Besides the main event pitting ONE Strawweight World Champion Joshua Pacio against Alex Silva, four of his Team Lakay teammates and a Catalan Fighting Systems stalwart will be part of the card as well.
Headlining the undercard is former ONE Lightweight World Champion Eduard āLandslideā Folayang, who returns to action against Pakistanās Ahmed āThe Wolverineā Mujtaba.
Folayang is one of the most prominent martial artists in the country ā a massive sports icon loved by his people. Behind his world-class wushu skills, Folayang is on the comeback trail and believes he can make another run at the World Title.
Former ONE World Title challenger Danny āThe Kingā Kingad also returns to face Chinaās āThe Hunterā Xie Wei.
Kingad is one of the hottest prospects in Philippine mixed martial arts. Since challenging Adriano Moraes for the title in 2017, Kingad has won six out of his last seven bouts. He blitzed through the ONE Flyweight World Grand Prix with victories over Senzo Ikeda and Reece McLaren, then faced legend Demetrious āMighty Mouseā Johnson in the final round.
Now Kingad starts his climb back to the top anew against Xie, who earned his start on Rich Franklinās ONE Warrior Series.
Meanwhile, Lito āThunder Kidā Adiwang of the Philippines looks to continue his rise through the ranks when he faces Thailandās Pongsiri āThe Smiling Assassinā Mitsatit.
Adiwang began his career in ONE Championship via ONE Warrior Series, where he railed off three impressive victories to earn a six-figure contract with the promotion. āThunder Kidā made a successful main roster debut back in October, when he finished the highly-regarded Senzo Ikeda in the first round.
Then making her much-anticipated return to the ONE Circle is Team Lakayās Gina āConvictionā Iniong, who takes on Indiaās Asha āKnockout Queenā Roka.
Iniong was last seen in the Circle last February, where she defeated highly-regarded Malaysian Jihin Radzuan via close split decision. Just recently, Iniong competed in the 30th Southeast Asian Games in Manila, where she bagged a kickboxing gold medal in the Women’s 55 KG Kick Light Category.
On the other hand, looking to get back on the winning track is the Philippinesā Jomary āThe Zamboanginian Fighterā Torres, who locks horns with former ONE World Title challenger Jenny āLady GoGoā Huang of Chinese Taipei.
Last on the mixed martial arts spectrum is a showdown between taekwondo black belt āPretty Boyā Kwon Won Il of South Korea and Shooto Bantamweight World Champion Shoko Sato of Japan.
Also on the card is a trio of ONE Super Series Muay Thai contests.
Australiaās Alma Juniku takes on Anne Line Hogstad of Norway. Former ONE Flyweight Kickboxing World Champion āThe Baby Sharkā Petchdam Petchyindee Academy goes head-to-head with Japanās Kohei āMomotaroā Kodera. Finally, Thailandās Rodlek PK.Saenchaimuaythaigym does battle with Chris Shaw of Scotland.
