Denice Zamboanga’s road to the ONE Atomweight World Championship has been delayed.
ONE Championship has decided to postpone its all-woman Empower card which features the opening round of the Atomweight World Grand Prix.
The event should have taken place live from Singapore Indoor Stadium on May 28.
“As always, the health and safety of our athletes, staff, and fans is our top priority. A new date for the event and other details will be announced at a later date,” read the organization’s statement.
Zamboanga would have faced Seo Hee Ham in the opening round of the knockout tournament.
Other first round matches in the ONE Women’s Atomweight World Grand Prix include a battle between no.2-ranked contender Meng Bo and Julie Mezabarba, a rematch between no. 4-ranked Stamp Fairtex and no.3-ranked Alyona Rassohyna, and Itsuki Hirata versus Alyse Anderson.
Serving as main event was Xiong Jing Nan defending her ONE Women’s Strawweight World Championship against Michelle Nicolini. In the co-main event, Anissa Meksen was supposed to make her ONE Super Series debut against Martine Michieletto.
Replacing Empower is Full Blast — a card that has taped matches.
Team Lakay product Edward Kelly (12-8) takes on Ahmed Faress (16-3) in the card.
Headlining the five-match High Point is a Muay Thai super fight between Saemapetch Fairtex and Kulabdam Sor. Jor. Piek Uthai.
