Ces Molina praised Farm Fresh as “young and aggressive” for giving Cignal a tough fight in the Premier Volleyball League Second All-Filipino Conference on Saturday.
Molina and the rest of the HD Spikers had to put in extra effort to overcome the challenge posed by a resilient Foxies team in four closely contested sets: 25-23, 23-25, 25-20, 25-17, securing their second consecutive victory at the Philsports Arena in Pasig City.
Before testing Cignal, Farm Fresh had suffered a narrow four-set loss to the defending champion Creamline last Tuesday.
The reigning Invitational Conference MVP believes that the Foxies, who are only in their second conference in the professional ranks, have a promising future ahead of them.
“Siyempre, young and aggressive yung masasabi mo dito sa Farm Fresh and malaki yung potential nila, yung mga bata, and yun nga, maganda rin yung sistema nila kaya maganda rin yung pinapakita nila ngayon,” said Molina, a five-time PSL champion.
Molina contributed 20 points with 18 successful attacks and two blocks, along with eight excellent digs, to help the HD Spikers fend off the Foxies.
Cignal now sits at a 3-2 standing, tied with Akari for the sixth spot.
The national team mainstay emphasized that Cignal made sure not to display any signs of complacency against the Foxies, who are still searching for their first win in the PVL since joining in the previous conference.
She also acknowledged that the HD Spikers are far from achieving their desired level, stating that the team still has much more to offer in this conference.
“Siyempre hindi naman kami nagpapakampante sa nilaro namin ngayon kasi kung tutuusin, kaya pa namin na mas better pa so kailangan pa naming magtrabaho kasi kulang pa ‘yan, kung anong pinapakita namin ngayon, kulang pa,” the 10-year veteran shared.
“Marami pa kaming hindi nasunod na game plan ni coach Shaq kaya the next game, pagtatrabahuhan pa namin.”
