ONIC PH acted calm and collected when they dissected the surging Nexplay EVOS in the second round of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional league-Philippines Season Eight playoffs on Friday afternoon.
And it’s all because ONIC PH coach Denver “Yeb” Miranda made it a mission to relieve the players from the pressure prior to each match so they could perform at their best and focus solely on the match at hand.
“Ang pinaka-target ko is tanggalin ‘yung pressure sa mga players,” said Yeb after the team’s 3-0 sweep of Nexplay EVOS.
“Kasi most of the time kung pressured ka maglaro, hindi mo malalabas ‘yung best mo. So ganun kami dito sa ONIC.”
ONIC PH put on a clinic against the red-hot Nexplay EVOS squad that was coming off a huge 3-0 sweep over RSG PH yesterday.
“Siyempre hindi namin plano magbigay na ng game. So gusto na namin tapusin agad kung kaya,” said the former Cignal Ultra coach.
The team showed dominance as early in the series with Marky “Markyyy” Capacio leading the charge. Come Game Three, the team switched to Jaylord “Hate” Gonzales and had a more commanding performance. They ended the match in just 13 minutes and six seconds despite facing a Nexplay EVOS side that has its comfort picks.
ONIC PH will take on the winner of the Blacklist International-Omega Esports playoff match tomorrow at 6:00 PM for the first grand finals seat.
