ECHO has announced the departure of star roamer Tristan “Yawi” Cabrera from the team through a video on their Facebook page.
It was Yawi himself who revealed the development in the uploaded video, stating that he would be parting ways with the team that helped him win one MPL Philippines title and the M4 World Championship crown.
In the tribute video, Yawi thanked his coaches Archie “Tictac” Reyes and Robert “Trebor” Sanchez, as well as ECHO Country Manager Mitch Liwanag, whom he credited for giving them the confidence to become champions.
“Sobrang excited ako sa next opportunity sakin. At for sure, dadalhin ko lahat ng mga natutunan ko sa ECHO kaya wag kayong malulungkot, guys. Maraming salamat ulit sa mga fans na walang sawang sumusuporta,” Yawi said in the tribute video.
“Kung saan man ako dalhin ng tadhana, sana patuloy niyo pa rin akong suportahan at ang Echo. This is not a goodbye but see you later.”
The ECHO-Yawi chapter finally closes after a controversial 2023 campaign that saw Yawi lose his spot to Jaypee “Jaypee” dela Cruz after their MSC campaign, sparking various rumors and uproar from disgruntled fans.
The 22-year-old roamer is rumored to have signed with the Indonesian side AURA Fire for MPL Indonesia Season 13.
