Yawi laments not getting to face Nexplay pals

Tristan “Yawi” Cabrera’s much-anticipated face off against his former team Nexplay EVOS will have to wait for a little longer.

Nexplay EVOS reportedly failed to arrive on time for its first-round match-up against Yawi’s ECHO on Sunday night. This forced the organizers to hand the win to the top-ranked squad via default.

According to Yawi, he was already looking forward to facing his former team. He also noted that he prepared really hard for this series.

“Inaabangan ko siyempre yung dati kong team e, gusto kong talunin,” said Yawi during the post-game interview.

Yawi also revealed that he has already prepared some post-game trash talking if ECHO wins the match. Unfortunately, the star tank will have to wait before teasing his former teammates.

Yawi also asked his former teammates and close friends Renejay “Renejay” Barcarse and John Paul “H2wo” Salonga, who were supposed to sit out this game, to play in both teams’ second-round match-up.

Aside from the two, the former NXPE tank is also looking forward to facing Kenneth “CADENZA” Castro — the rookie who replaced him in the team’s starting lineup.

ECHO’s second-round match against Nexplay EVOS will be the final game of the elimination round on April 10, Sunday at 8:00 PM.

With the victory, ECHO reclaimed the top spot with 18 points off a 6-1 slate. On the other hand, Nexplay EVOS fell to a 4-3 standing with 11 points still at the fourth spot.

To end things up, Yawi also took the time to thank the fans who waited for this week’s star match-up.
