ECHO’s star-studded cast passed its debut with flying colors on Saturday night.
Going up against a retooled Bren Esports squad, the new and improved ECHO main five did not disappoint. They scored a 2-0 sweep to kick-start their MPL Philippines Season Nine title bid with a bang.
And for Tristan “Yawi” Cabrera, ECHO’s stellar debut was a product of the team’s communication.
“Naguusap usap lang po kami,” said Yawi after the win on Saturday night.
“Wala pong nagpapataasan ng pride, ‘pag may mali po aaminin po.”
The former Nexplay EVOS roamer also shared that the team has really meshed well during the off-season – resulting in quality results during scrimmages.
“Masaya po, maganda naman po yung results namin sa scrim saka maganda yung samahan namin. Wala pong masyadong problema,” said Yawi.
Yawi also acknowledged the team’s tendency to go rouge at times in-game, assuring that the team has it under control.
“Yung gigil po, sakto lang. Hindi yung magpapatalo samin,” shared Yawi.
“Hype lang, momentum.”
Playing Chou both times, Yawi had a combined number of 23 assists, a kill, and five deaths in the two-game series.
Yawi and ECHO will take on Omega Esports tomorrow at 6:00 PM.
