Pacific Water collected its first victory in the 2021 Pia Cayetano WNBL season after five games, stunning erstwhile-undefeated Glutagence, 71-61, Saturday at the Bren Z. Guiao Convention Center in San Fernando, Pampanga.

Jolina Go led the upset for the Queens as she delivered 27 points on 8-of-15 shooting from the field including a 6-of-10 clip from deep. Snow Peñaranda flirted with a quadruple-double, unloading 13 points, 16 rebounds, nine assists, and seven steals.

A free throw by Go at the 3:05 mark of the fourth period put Pacific Water’s lead at 17, 68-51.

But eight straight points by the Glow Boosters, capped by Raiza Palmera-Dy’s layup, pumped some life in their cause, 59-68, with 1:21 to go.

Raiza Palmera-Dy was a one-woman team for the Glow Boosters, nailing 28 points, nine rebounds, four steals, and three assists.

Glutagence has a chance to return to the win column tomorrow when it clashes with Parañaque, 1:15 pm, at the same venue.
