A bit of drama took place over at the TNT side in the final minute of its PBA Governors’ Cup match with Blackwater, Friday at SMART Araneta Coliseum.
At the center of which were head coach Chot Reyes and Mikey Williams.
It occurred with 58.3 seconds left, with the game all but settled as the Tropang Giga were owning a 106-93 lead that eventually became the final result.
The 2021 Philippine Cup Finals MVP was subbed out, and he was shown on camera saying something to his mentor while on the way to the bench.
Even the broadcast commentators had also taken notice of which, filled with curiosity as Reyes, according to them, replied to Williams.
It wasn’t clear what the two were talking about.
The substitution, though, was made moments after Williams committed a turnover, as he fell to the Bossing’s full-court trap.
The Rookie-MVP frontrunner left the game with a team-high 23 points on five three-pointers, alongside six rebounds and four steals.
Williams was also shown on the bench apparently being comforted by veteran teammate Poy Erram as the game was about to wrap up.
Tiebreaker Times had reached out to both Reyes and Williams regarding the matter but has yet to receive a response as of this posting.
