VTL: Paat, Nakhon Ratchasima suffer second loss to Khonkaen Star

Khonkaen Star made short work of Nakhon Ratchasima QminC, 25-19, 25-18, 25-23, in the 2021-22 Volleyball Thailand League, Saturday at the Nimibutr Stadium in Bangkok.

Mylene Paat still led Nakhon Ratchasima with 13 points, all from attacks.

Dindin Santiago-Manabat, who was recently inked to be Paat’s partner, will make her debut on February 6, Sunday, when they face Nakornnont at 11:30 am (Manila time).

Khonkaen looked to be on its way to a runaway victory in the third set at match point, 24-19.

But with Paat on the service line, she pulled Nakhon Ratchasima to within one, 23-24, but Em-Orn Phanusit drilled a crosscourt kill for the win.

This is Nakhon Ratchasima’s second loss to the same team this season, falling in four sets last December 23, 26-24, 21-25, 21-25, 20-25. Paat had 27 points during that game.

Pattiya Juangian spearheaded Khonkaen with 17 points built on 15 attacks and two service aces, while Anongporn Promrat chipped in 12 points.

On the other hand, Kanchana Sisaikaeo backstopped Paat with 10 points while Prapatsorn Kongudom added nine points.

Khonkaen upped its record to 5-3 while pulling down its foe to 4-4.
