VisMin suspends Senining for rest of season as Lapu-Lapu fined a total of P220K

For acts deemed “dishonorable to the game,” ARQ Builders-Lapu Lapu’s Rendell Senining has received a season-long suspension by the Pilipinas VisMin Super Cup along with a P15,000 fine.

Videos circulating on social media show Senining attempting left- and right-handed free throws in one trip to the line.

Five Heroes — Hercules Tangkay, Reed Juntilla, Monbert Arong, Dawn Ochea, and Ferdinand Lusdoc, along with head coach Francis Auquico — were suspended for the rest of the first round. The players were fined P15,000 each while Auquico was handed a P30,000 bill.

Auquico’s staff did not escape punishment, either. His assistants Jerry Abuyabor, Alex Cainglet, John Carlo Nuyles, Hamilton Tundag, and Roger Justin Potpot were handed P20,000 tabs each.

“This is a clear statement of Pilipinas VisMin Super Cup. Any deliberate actions that any of these teams or players are not tolerated in this league. If ginagawa niyo po ito sa ibang liga, huwag niyong gawin ito sa VisMin Super Cup. We are here to provide livelihood and promote sports tourism,” said league COO Rocky Chan.

“There is no place here for these kinds of action.”

The league also expelled the entire Siquijor Mystics team from the league.
