Vice Esports notched its first victory of the season after escaping Execration, 2-1, in the Dota Pro Circuit 2021: S1 – Southeast Asia Upper Division, Wednesday evening.
The 1-2 of Jinn Marrey “Palos” Lamatao (Morphling) and Michael Roi “Enryu” Ladines (Brewmaster) spearheaded the Game Three victory to forge a three-way tie with Execration and TNC Predator for the fifth spot with 1-2 slates.
Vice Esports carry Palos finished with eight kills and six assists against two deaths. Meanwhile, Enryu recorded a 7-4-15 line for the Tamaraws. The 19-year-old Palos also tallied a game-high 28,257 net worth in the match that lasted for 40 minutes and 40 seconds.
Palos – who suited up for Execration before making his way to Vice Esports – secured a triple kill entering the 40-minute mark. He took down Glenard Lei “Rupido” Rugay (Batrider) twice and Don Carlo “BDz” Manalo (Pangolier) once to put the game on ice.
Midlaner Argle “Ken” Llesis’ 16 kills and 12 assists against five deaths went down the drain as Execration suffered its second consecutive loss after upsetting TNC in their season opener. Meanwhile, Yuri Dave “Yowe” Pacaña’s Bristleback, who was the second richest hero in the match, registered a game-high 20 assists laced with five kills and five deaths.
With Mark Anthony “Bob” Urbina’s Obsidian Destroyer leading the way, Vice Esports opened up the series with a dominant 41-7 Game One stomp. Execration, however, was able to even up the series through Ken’s Puck.
Vice Esports looks to extend their winning ways against second seed Fnatic on February 10, Wednesday. On the other hand, Execration will try and bounce back against the Carlo “Kuku” Palad-led T1 on February 13, Saturday.
