Austin Reaves is poised to make the most out of his Team USA debut.
In addition to being a member of the United States men’s national basketball team, the 6-foot-5 guard for the Los Angeles Lakers will also participate in the Manila Sneaker Expo.
This event is scheduled during the USA’s break day on August 27 at SMX Mall of Asia.
“I’ve heard that they’re big Lakers fans, which I obviously love, but they’re also huge basketball fans overall,” Reaves shared.
Tickets for the event can be purchased at manilasneakerexpo.com.
Reaves is making his national team debut in the World Championships. His impact was pivotal during USA’s commanding 108-86 victory over Greece in the International Basketball Week at Etihad Arena on Friday.
“It means a lot just to play for our country,” Reaves expressed to FIBA.basketball. “I think we’ve assembled a true team. We have players at a very high level, and we also have versatile players you can plug in. I’m truly excited. I aim to learn as much as possible from these teammates and hopefully achieve victory.”
Reaves contributed 11 points, including two three-pointers.
Among other USA players, five registered double-digit scores, with Anthony Edwards leading the pack with 21 points. Cam Johnson added 13 points, four assists, three steals, and two rebounds.
Jaren Jackson and Mikal Bridges contributed 11 and 10 points, respectively.
Nikos Rogkavopoulos and Panagiotis Kalaitzakis led Greece with 12 points each.
Team USA will face New Zealand (August 26), Greece (28), and Jordan (30) at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.
