UE bolsters backcourt with ‘one-and-done’ Drayton Caoile

University of the East has added a new weapon to its backcourt in hopes of filling the void left by Rainer Maga ahead of UAAP Season 88.

Six-foot guard Drayton Caoile officially committed to the Red Warriors on Monday and will suit up as a one-and-done master’s student-athlete.

His agent, Ronald Dadivas, confirmed the development.

Caoile previously played for Bushnell University and the University of Providence before transferring to Corban University, an NAIA school.

In his lone season with the Corban Warriors, he posted averages of 9.2 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 1.9 assists per game.

Maga, who had been a key piece for UE, recently transferred to the University of the Philippines.

Caoile now hopes that his stint with the Red Warriors will serve as a springboard to a potential career in the PBA.
