UAAP champ Nierva hopes Yawi wins MPL PH crown

Tristan “Yawi” Cabrera was a fixture in UAAP volleyball games last June as he was constantly supporting his girlfriend Jennifer Nierva of National University.

Now, it’s Nierva’s turn to show her support for ECHO’s star roamer, who is currently leading his team’s campaign in the MPL Philippines Season 10.

The reigning UAAP Best Libero, who was there during the team’s debut win over ONIC PH, went to her second straight MPL game on Friday night and watched Yawi lead ECHO to a 2-0 win over Bren Esports.

Now na ako yung sumusuporta sa kanya, I think and I can see naman na naiinspire rin siya. Kung ano yung positive vibes na nakuha ko nung UAAP, I can see na ganun din sa kanya ngayon,” Nierva told Tiebreaker Times.

Yung na-experience kong support not from him lang alone but also kila tita yung mom niya. Talagang na-boost ako and yung confidence ko rin talaga inside the court tumaas and at the same time, talagang na-motivate and na-inspire niya ako every time sa game,” she continued.

A few months back, Nierva led the Lady Bulldogs to a dominant 16-0 sweep in Season 84 that helped the school end a 65-year title drought in the UAAP women’s volleyball tournament.UAAP-Season-84-NU-vs-DLSU-Yawi UAAP champ Nierva hopes Yawi wins MPL PH crown ESports Mobile Legends MPL-PH News - philippine sports news

With the spotlight now on Yawi, Nierva is hoping that her significant other can achieve the same feat and win the MPL Philippines Season 10 title.

Of course I want him to get the championship also kasi nakita ko kung gaano siya ka-desidido and gaano niya ka-gusto mag-champion lalo na nung nakita niya akong mag-champion sa UAAP,” said the National Team stalwart.

Before, nung nanalo kami sinabi niya rin sakin na mas ginanahan talaga siya. Sabi niya, hindi pwedeng ako lang yung champion sabi niya siya rin. Pero syempre it’s never gonna be easy so lagi ko lang siya nire-remind na hard work pays off.”
