Jeremiah Gray will undergo further scans after his injury early in TNT’s PBA 3×3 Leg 3 match versus Limitless App, Saturday.
In a report by the league, the fear is the high-flying guard hyper-extended his left knee following an awkward landing off a dunk at the 8:54-mark.
Cameras showed that he was trying to jump it off in an apparent assessment of himself to check if he could play on. Ultimately, though, he sat it out.
Gray was quickly attended to by the team’s head PT Dex Aseron.
That left the Tropang Giga with Almond Vosotros and Samboy De Leon in such a rare occurrence where only two players went up against a four-man crew.
They did not have Lervin Flores for the day following his suspension by the league and the team for his unsportsmanlike foul in the Leg 2 semis versus Meralco.
The remaining duo still tried to put up a gallant stand, but they could only do so much. They eventually bowed to the Appmasters, 16-21.
Vosotros carried the load with 12 points, while De Leon added three markers.
TNT finished the first day of the third leg with a 1-1 card.
The Tropa are expected to welcome Flores back tomorrow versus Purefoods in their last pool game. However, it remains uncertain if Gray will suit up.
The injury was truly a downer for the Fil-Am cager. He’d impressed in their 20-17 win over CAVITEX earlier by unloading 12 points.
The Scores:
Limitless 21 – Rosser 6, Napoles 6, Hayes 5, Caduyac 4.
TNT 16 – Vosotros 12, De Leon 3, Gray 1.
