Trisha Tubu expressed elation seeing the entire Farm Fresh team step up in their massive straight-set upset of Chery Tiggo in the 2024 Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference on Saturday night.
The Foxies drew contributions from almost everyone as they took down a stacked Crossovers side, 25-23, 25-22, 25-16, securing their second victory of the tournament at the Filoil EcoOil Centre in San Juan.
So sobrang happy po kasi naiilabas na namin ‘yung gustong mangyari ng coaches,” said Tubu, who had a game-high 18 points in the win.
Team captain Louie Romero’s playmaking played a pivotal role in the sweep, tallying 27 excellent sets along with two points.
A total of 10 players scored for Farm Fresh in the one-hour, 36-minute contest, with Caitlyn Viray and Pia Ildefonso contributing significantly in the final set.
Tubu credited the coaching staff for coming up with the game plan and helping them prepare against the Crossovers. She also thanked team owner Frank Lao for always motivating them and giving them confidence.
The former Adamson University star hopes that the team can sustain its momentum ahead of their match against the Brooke Van Sickle-led Petro Gazz on Thursday at 4:00 p.m. at the Philsports Arena.
So pag-aaralan po namin kung saan kami mas makaka-gain ng maraming points,” she said.
